On the internet , T.V etc. Poker playing individuals continue to affirm that thet always come out ahead and either make a profitable living out of poker or never redeposit. Surely the reality is that only a very small percentage are telling the truth.

Because they would look like idiots if they said “Hi, I play poker 12 hours a day and lost $100,000.”
Either they are lying or only the successful people are coming forward to say anything. If you do manage to make money, you might brag about it, but if you lose, you’re either gonna lie or keep your mouth shut.
these are players that can also work for the site itself, they get paid to play. They make it look busy, and promote the site. Ever wonder what the odds are of you getting a full house and somebody else getting 4 of a kind in the same hand? It happens more online than the odds allow for. Be careful.
they need more publicity. more of that equals more money.
i dunno u tell me
Yes thats true.
Well, some people do make good money from online poker, but many people save face by exagerating their winnings. It’s a pride thing.
Another thing to consider is that many people only remember the good times – ie. when they win, and try to forget all the tournaments where they walked away with nothing.
Probably the only way to actually guarantee not losing any money is to enter online ‘freeroll’ games.
Freeroll tournaments are very simple to explain: you play for free with no cost required to join the table and the online poker room still offers real money prizes to the winner(s).
Most of the popular online poker rooms have regular freeroll poker tournaments, including Party Poker and William Hill Poker.
Playing in freeroll games in an excellent way to get used to playing poker online before deciding to risk real money. Think of it as a ‘try before you buy’ offer.
